My name is Kathy Christie. I feel privileged to be part of the Wise Way Team. For the past 16 years I have worked in case management assisting people dealing with mental health issues to reach their goals. I have been fortunate to meet some amazing folks along the way and have found that the learning process has been mutual.
One of my areas of interest is transitions. In my work it became evident that often transitions include bouts of depression and anxiety; even though we may have had treatment that was successful, we often find a return of symptoms during times of transition whether they are positive or negative ones.
The Wise way provides the insight to recognize what is going on and then to have concrete tools to use making the transition much more doable. Thanks for the opportunity to share this knowledge with you.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from York University and a post graduate certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution – specializing in family mediation. I have been a mental health case manager and part-time crisis worker for 18 years. I have additional training and experience in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, hoarding treatment and smoking cessation programs.
