The Wise Way utilizes material from a variety of evidence-based models. The Wise Way incorporates key concepts from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness practice and Psychosocial Rehabilitation, as well as the timeless philosophical ideas of Greek and Roman philosophers.
The majority of the skills presented in The Wise Way are adapted from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), originally developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan. Since its inception in the late 1980’s, DBT has proven effective as a treatment for many types of psychological disorders.
